How Do I Use My Tresiba® FlexTouch® Pen?

This is a Quick Start Guide and Instructions of Use (IFU) for Tresiba® U-100 and U-200 FlexTouch® pens.

1. Check your insulin type

Read the label to check you have the right insulin. Make sure the insulin is clear and colorless. Do not use if it looks cloudy or colored.

2. Attach a new needle

Pull off the paper tab. Push and twist the needle on until it is tight. Pull off both needle caps. Do not throw away the outer needle cap.

3. Prime your pen

Turn the dose selector to select 2 units. Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter shows "0." Make sure a drop appears.

4. Select your dose

Turn the dose selector to select the number of units you need to inject.

5. Give your injection

First wipe the skin with an alcohol swab and let it dry before you inject your dose. Insert the needle in the thigh, upper arm, or abdomen. Press and hold the dose button. After the dose counter reaches 0, slowly count to 6.

Select your dose in 1-unit increments for Tresiba® U-100 and 2-unit increments for Tresiba® U-200.

6. Remove the needle

Carefully remove the needle and place it in a sharps container. Replace the pen cap.

Insulin injection sites

Where to inject

Change (rotate) your injection sites within the area you choose for each dose. Do not inject in the exact same spot for each injection.
