I have type 1 diabetes

What makes Fiasp® stand out is that it is designed to start working fast, entering the bloodstream in approximately 2½ minutes. This gives you some flexibility on when you need to take your dose, either at the start of a meal or up to 20 minutes after starting a meal.

How to take Fiasp®

Fiasp® offers a number of delivery options:

  • FlexTouch®—the latest prefilled insulin pen from Novo Nordisk. Watch a step-by-step video to see how to use your FlexTouch® pen
  • PenFill® cartridge—disposable cartridge that is loaded into your NovoPen Echo®, a reusable insulin pen that allows for half-unit dosing and automatically records the last dose and time of your injection. Watch a step-by-step video to see how to use your NovoPen Echo®
  • 10-mL vial—can be used in a syringe to inject or for filling an insulin pump. Refer to the Instructions For Use for details on how to take Fiasp®
  • PumpCart®—1.6 mL cartridges for use with an insulin pump (refer to the pump user manual for use and instructions) 

If you use an insulin pump, it’s a good idea to have a backup source for insulin if needed. Refer to the insulin infusion pump user manual to see if Fiasp® can be used. Use in accordance with the insulin pump's instructions for use.

Finding out that your child has diabetes can be difficult. However, with the right treatment plan and care team in place, diabetes is a condition that can be managed. Now that your child’s health care provider has prescribed Fiasp®, you probably want to find out more about this insulin.

Fiasp® is a mealtime insulin that is designed to start working fast, entering the bloodstream in approximately 2½ minutes. This means that Fiasp® offers dosing flexibility, which can come in handy if your child is a picky eater. Your child can take their dose of Fiasp® at the start of a meal or up to 20 minutes after starting a meal.

Where can I get help with the cost of Fiasp®?

If you have private or commercial insurance, such as insurance you receive through an employer, you can register for the Fiasp® Savings Offer. With the offer, you may be eligible to pay as little as $35 per 30-day supply (maximum savings of $65 per 30-day supply) or no more than $99 per prescription for up to 2 years when you start Fiasp®.c
