Xultophy® 100/3.6 is an injectable medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes.
Xultophy® 100/3.6 is not for use in people with type 1 diabetes or people with diabetic ketoacidosis (increased ketones in the blood or urine).
ZUL-to-fye is the correct pronunciation of Xultophy® 100/3.6.
The 100/3.6 means that Xultophy® 100/3.6 is made up of 100 units/mL of insulin degludec and 3.6 mg/mL of liraglutide.
You can take Xultophy® 100/3.6 at any time of the day, but you should take it at the same time each day.
If you miss a dose, take that dose at your next regular dosing time. Do not take an extra dose or increase the dose to make up for the one you missed.
Tell your health care provider about all medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Xultophy® 100/3.6 is not recommended for use in combination with any other product containing liraglutide or another GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is not known if Xultophy® 100/3.6 can be used with mealtime insulin.

Your health care provider will give you your starting dose of Xultophy® 100/3.6 along with your blood sugar target range and show you how to adjust your dose based on your blood sugar readings.
Use Xultophy® 100/3.6 exactly how your health care provider instructed.
Xultophy® 100/3.6 is taken once daily, at the same time each day.
Your dose may change depending on your daily blood sugar levels.
Your health care provider will advise you on how to adjust your Xultophy® 100/3.6 dose based on your daily blood sugar readings.
Checking and tracking your blood sugar lets you and your health care provider know if your current treatment is working.
Xultophy® 100/3.6 is approved for adults with type 2 diabetes.
The Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen is available from pharmacies in packs of 5. Each pen contains 300 units of Xultophy® 100/3.6.
Xultophy® 100/3.6 comes in a prefilled pen with no push-button extension. Doses can be adjusted in 1-unit increments.
The Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen can deliver 10 to 50 units in a single injection. Doses can be adjusted in 1-unit increments.
Other prefilled injection pens have a push button that extends when the dose is dialed up. The Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen has a spring-loaded mechanism that allows the push button to stay in place at any dose.
The Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen is compatible with universal fit needles. We recommend NovoFine® and NovoFine® Plus needles, including NovoFine® Autocover®.
Your Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen can go for up to 3 weeks without needing to put it in a cooler or refrigerator.
Once in use, the Xultophy® 100/3.6 pen can be stored at room temperature (59°F to 86°F) or refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F for up to 21 days.
Used needles and any empty Xultophy® 100/3.6 pens should be discarded in a sharps container or some type of hard plastic or metal container with a tight-fitting, puncture-resistant lid, such as an empty detergent bottle. Disposal requirements may vary locally. Check with your health care provider about the right way to throw away used needles.
